Proposed terms of Reference

  1. To contribute to the development of standard guidelines for clinical management of malaria.

  2. To maintain resource network for training, technical collaboration, research and information exchange in the entire area of management of patients with uncomplicated and complicated/severe malaria.

  3. To provide consultative services on clinical management of complicated/severe malaria.

  4. To undertake research for future improvement of case management of malaria including clinical trials, clinical pharmacology studies, pathogenesis, pathology and patho-physiology of malaria, nursing and intensive care, epidemiology of drug resistance

  5. To participate in hospital-based and field-testing of new rapid diagnostic kits for detection of malaria infection and field-testing of malaria vaccines.

  6. To participate in establishment of regional and global network for clinical management malaria and epidemiology of drug resistance.

This course is organized jointly by the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, the World Health Organization Regional Office for South-East Asia Region, New Delhi, India and Mekong Malaria Programme
